When a death occurred before 1990, a family would call to make arrangements when loved one died. We often knew who the family was and had served them before. The service would generally be held in a church or our Drawing Room and cemetery decisions had been made years ago.
Our culture has changed. Children move away, more people are non-churched than ever, people are living longer, and the value of independent lives lived has emerged.
Thompson’s recognized this shift and began a new era of adapting to the changing needs of our families. Some things never change though and providing funeral services with integrity and compassion, giving attention to detail, and bringing comfort to those surviving are still the most important work we do.
Funeral Arrangements with Traditional Service options include:
- Full traditional services at our funeral home, church or other facility, visitation or vigil, and graveside services
- Graveside services with visitation or vigil
- Immediate Burial
- Modified services including transport to/from another location
As with any choice of service, we assist with placing the obituary, flowers, clergy and musicians, death certificates, police escorts, and cemetery property and monuments.
