Obituary of Chuck Lay
Charles (Chuck) Daniel Lay met his Savior face to face on February 1, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Lay, and their children, Emma, Marshall, Hank and Maggie Lay; parents, Judy and Dan Lay; sister, Alexis and husband, Mark Isbell, and their children, Sara Jo and Elijah Isbell; mother-in-law, Rebecca Chapman; father-in-law, Terry McClain; brother-in-law, Nathan and wife, Anna Grace McClain; sister-in-law, Kristen and husband, Alex Wander, and their children, Gracie and Brooks Wander; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
Born on August 14, 1984 in New Orleans, LA, Charles had a unique way of making everyone he knew feel seen and loved. He was quick to laugh, persistently hopeful and gave the best hugs. His deep love for Jesus was evident and is a lasting legacy to all who had the joy of knowing him.
A lifelong artist, Charles graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2008, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He explored and grew his creativity as a graphic designer, illustrator and hand letterer who loved to use his gifts and skill to bring honor to God. He most recently served as the Creative Director at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.
Charles also enjoyed volunteering at his church, trying out new taco spots, listening to music, and spending quality time with his family at home or at the beach.
Charles was a loving husband and father, loyal son and brother, great friend, talented artist, foodie, and beloved child of God. He will be missed by many, but we have peace in knowing that we will see him again soon.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 in the Chapel at Christ Chapel Bible Church.
