Martin Thompson has dedicated his life to serving families in Fort Worth for nearly 50 years. Born and raised here, he grew up watching his father, Guy Thompson, set a high standard as one of the city’s most respected funeral directors. That example shaped Martin’s path and continues to guide his work today.
Martin began his career on January 1, 1976, at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, a Fort Worth tradition since 1911, where he spent more than two decades serving families alongside his father and built the foundation for his lifelong calling. Over the years, Martin has also led funeral homes in Grapevine, Keller, and Mansfield, giving him a wide breadth of experience across Tarrant County.
In 2012, Martin and his son Jon opened Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, designed to provide families with meaningful, affordable alternatives to traditional arrangements. Today, alongside his wife Janice, son Jon, and daughter-in-law Brittany, Martin serves families at both locations, continuing to honor Fort Worth’s rich traditions while embracing the community’s changing needs.
Now celebrating his 50th year in funeral service, Martin remains committed to the same principles that drew him into the profession—compassion, integrity, and community. He considers it both a privilege and a calling to help families tell the story of someone they love. Outside of his work, he enjoys playing golf, spending time with his animals, giving back to the community, and being with his family.

Janice Thompson, wife of Martin Thompson, was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas, where she graduated from Brownwood High School. She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin and is proud to be an alumna.
Janice has extensive experience in the insurance Industry and mortgage banking, having worked as a loan officer. Her expertise in these fields has equipped her with valuable skills she can contribute to the funeral home.
Janice has been an active supporter of her husband's work in the funeral service industry, and she will continue to assist in any way she can. Her dedication and willingness to help make her a valuable asset to the funeral home.

A Fort Worth native, Jon Thompson has been immersed in funeral service from a young age, inspired by the example of his grandfather, the late Guy Thompson of Thompson’s Harveson & Cole, and his father, Martin Thompson. Their guidance instilled in him a lifelong respect for the profession and a deep commitment to serving families with compassion.
Jon pursued his passion by earning his Mortuary Science degree from Amarillo College, becoming a licensed funeral director in the State of Texas. For more than 21 years, he has walked alongside families in their time of need, helping them create meaningful services that honor the lives of their loved ones with dignity, care, and respect.
As Managing Funeral Director, Jon carries forward his family’s legacy while providing personal attention to every family he serves. He values working alongside his family and the devoted staff who he sees as an extension of that family. Together, they share the same calling: to walk beside families with compassion and guidance during life’s most difficult moments.
Jon’s dedication to excellence reflects the Thompson Difference: a tradition of family, compassion, and service that guides every interaction and every detail. Families can trust that when they come to Thompson, they are cared for like one of their own.
Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife, Brittany, and their two children. He can often be found on the lake with his family, out fishing, playing basketball, or enjoying time outdoors.

Brittany Thompson has been by her husband Jon’s side since the beginning, supporting the funeral home and serving families with compassion and care. Married for 16 years and together for more than two decades, Brittany has worked with the family business since her college years—assisting with first calls, funeral services, insurance, marketing, communications, and community outreach whenever needed.
A graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU), Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science degree in RTVF (Radio, Television, and Film) Communications. Her background in communications equips her with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
In addition to her role at the funeral home, Brittany built a 17-year career in financial consulting, working with banks, financial institutions, and fintechs. In that role, she managed recruiting and onboarding, client and consultant retention, marketing, and national conferences and events. These experiences sharpened her skills in organization, communication, and relationship-building, which she now brings back full circle to the families and communities she serves.
Brittany also believes strongly in giving back. She serves as Communications Chair on the Board of the Fort Worth Association for Financial Professionals and as Vice President of the Ridglea Country Club Charitable Foundation. Since 2022, she has played an active leadership role in the Foundation’s three main charitable events each year, supporting employee scholarships, veterans, and local charities.
Above all, Brittany is a devoted wife and mother of two children. As Director of Community Outreach & Marketing, she is dedicated to building connections with families, community partners, and the wider community—ensuring every family receives compassionate care and trusted guidance when they need it most.

Peyton Thomas, a proud fourth-generation resident of Dallas/Fort Worth, has been part of the Thompson family since 2020.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Midwestern State University, followed by an Associate of Applied Science in Mortuary Science and Anatomy from Northeast Texas Community College.
Peyton's unwavering dedication to her craft led her to pursue her passion in postmortem reconstructive surgery, which she continues to refine under the tutelage of Vernie Fountain at Fountain National Academy.
