Gloria “JoAnn” Mason, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2018 surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer and is now peacefully resting in the presence of her greatest love, Jesus Christ.

JoAnn was born the eighth of twelve children in Blum, Texas on November 17, 1940 to Millard L. Plowman and Ruby Rimer Plowman. JoAnn married Thomas Paul Mason, Sr. on June 21, 1958, they were blessed with four children; Diana, Paul, Christopher and Anthony.  After many years as a stay at home mom, JoAnn began working at Sears, where she worked for more than 20 years.  After her daughter Diana passed away, JoAnn moved from Fort Worth to Melissa, Texas to help her son-in-law Keith raise her 3 young grandchildren, and in the words of her granddaughter Casey, at times that was no easy task.  JoAnn was a wonderful mother and grandmother, loving friend, talented singer/songwriter and the life of any gathering.  She loved without reservation and was always willing to give anything she had to others.  Truly her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family and friends. Following her example of loving her Lord, her family and friends say no goodbyes just “see you later”.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Tim Plowman, Linda Svede, Evelyn Strong, Joy Dunlap, Chester Plowman, Warren Plowman and Lula Jordan; her daughter Diana Mason Glenn; and granddaughter Jami Glenn Law.

JoAnn’s family would like to thank her church family who tirelessly gave of their time, love and meals. Also, thank you to the medical staff, doctors and nurses at Huguley Hospital and Community Hospice House of Texas, and to Jessica Busby of Restoring Function Home Health Care for your loving and tireless care, you were such a blessing to us.

JoAnn is survived by her sons, Thomas “Paul” Mason, Jr and his wife Anne, grandsons, Brandon and Brennon Mason, of Burleson, Texas; Christopher Mason of Princeton, Texas, granddaughters Lyndsey Mason of Fort Worth, and Lesley Mason of Plano, Texas; and Anthony Mason of Melissa, Texas; son-in law Keith Glenn and his wife Kim of Mansfield, Texas, grandchildren Casey Glenn Cates of Kaufman, Texas, Brian Glenn and his wife Nicole of Texarkana, Texas, grandson-in-law Kris Law and wife Shalane of Keller, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; her brothers, David Plowman, Calvin Plowman; her sisters, Mary Peacock, Glenda Lux;  numerous nieces and nephews.
