Henry was born May 21, 1922 in Swoyersville, PA, to Patrick and Lillian Glennon. He met Clara, his beautiful wife of 71 years, on a blind date on Valentine Day 1947. He served his country in World War II as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps with the 1st Raider Battalion landing on Guam, Guadalcanal, and Okinawa, among other South Pacific Islands. At that time, the Raiders were handpicked as the best of the best.
After the war, he worked as a foreman for New Jersey Power and Light. At the age of 60, he retired and with Clara, and daughter, Kathy, ran Glennon’s Deli and Bake Shop in Washington, New Jersey. He was a faithful Catholic and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. As a Fourth Degree Knight, he assisted in many service projects in his hometown. He was a loving husband, father, and Poppop to his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He lived with honor and integrity, and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie; mother, Lillian; father, Patrick; sister, Helen Hudak; and brother, Edward.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Clara Glennon; his son, Wayne Glennon and wife, Debbie; daughter, Kathy Wise and husband, John; sister-in-law, June Glennon; six grandchildren and spouses; fifteen great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. His joyful, song filled spirit will be missed by all.\
