Jane Gordon Robertson Mossbarger was born in Brighton, Michigan in 1934, and most of her youth was spent in Ashland, Ohio. She passed away peacefully at home June 20, 2020 in Fort Worth Texas.

Jane was a faithful member and very involved in the Episcopal Church. She was the first woman on the Vestry in the late 1970’s at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Southwest Fort Worth. She was a member of Daughter’s of the King and Episcopal Church Women and held leadership positions in both. In retirement she trained to provide spiritual direction to individuals. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Decatur, Texas and the biggest blessing of the pandemic was that she was able to attend church via Zoom. Sunday worship was something she had not been able to do for several years.

When her children were young Jane stayed at home and had the five children organized to do daily and weekly chores. As the children got older, Jane took a position as the Administrative Assistant for the Episcopal Pastoral Center. After the family moved to Houston in the late 1970’s she worked for Memorial Herman Hospital as a Patient Advocate. During that time she went back to finish her college degree started years earlier at Ohio Wesleyan. She earned a Masters degree in Psychology at Houston Baptist University. In retirement, Jane volunteered more than 5000 hours at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth serving in a variety of roles including two terms as president of the Auxiliary.

Jane is survived by her sister Judy LaSalle; her children: Allan Mossbarger, David Mossbarger, Jill Mossbarger, Judy and her husband Leigh Cariker, William and his wife Vicke Mossbarger; and her grandchildren: Mikha Mitchell, Ben Mossbarger, Emily Mossbarger, Alice and Chase Frost, Aiden Mossbarger, Phillip Hanna and Kate Marshall, Bradley and Heather Hanna with Michael and Maddox, Halley and Will Challis with Makenna Grace and Cameron Jane Challis, Abby Cariker, Gwen Cariker, Elizabeth and Clint Taylor with Olivia Taylor, and John (Jack) Mossbarger, Kaci and Matt Taylor with Kaden Mullins and Karson Taylor, and Kory Mullins.
