Obituary of Mariana Flusche Simeroth
Mariana Simeroth, 86, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 surrounded by her family.Mariana was born on November 20, 1930 in Muenster, TX to Lawrence and Anna Mae (Bernauer) Flusche. In 1938, she moved with her family to Decatur, TX, where her father and his brothers established Flusche Bros. auto services. In 1943, she began high school at Our Lady of Victory in Fort Worth as a boarder. After graduating she went to the Brantley-Draughon Business College for two years. In 1949, mutual friends introduced her to a young airman, Joe Perry Simeroth, who was stationed at Carswell AFB. Joe and Mariana fell in love and were married on June 10, 1950 in Decatur. Even though they often moved while Joe was in active service, they always considered Fort Worth their home.The best word that described Mariana is “Devoted.” She was devoted to her family and raised six children to be devoted as well. She was devoted to Scouting being both a Girl and a Boy Scout leader. She was devoted to the Arts and Music. She was a season ticket holder to the Fort Worth Symphony, a patron of the Kimbell Art Museum and a supporter of Kids Who Care. She and Joe were especially devoted to their Church where they served in many capacities including Bible Study, Small Church Leadership and young couple marriage preparation. Mariana was a Diocesan Lay Minister and the President of the Fort Worth Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Mariana was fiercely devoted to family traditions, which will always be remember and treasured as we sing carols at Christmas and enjoy home-made “Wacky” cake at birthdays.Mariana was preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Della Mae Flusche Ph.D., and by her brother-in-law James P. Duffy.Survivors: Her husband of 67 years, Joe Simeroth; children, Karen Simeroth Shaw (Richard), Mark Simeroth (Briddy), David Simeroth (Dakotah Flannery), Elizabeth Simeroth, Perry Simeroth (Mary), and Laura Simeroth Fenton (Joe); grandchildren, Joseph Shaw (Aubrey), Amanda Shaw Braccia (Nick), Jennifer Shaw (David Budries), Patrick Simeroth (Teresa), Michael Simeroth, Katie Simeroth Austin (Michael), Andrew J. Simeroth, Robert Simeroth, Thomas Simeroth, Anna Fenton, and Theresa Fenton; great-grandchildren, Loralai Shaw, Juliet Shaw, Jonah Shaw, Evie Braccia Shaw, and Josephine Simeroth; sister, Joanne Flusche Duffy; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
