Obituary of Catherine Schroeder Grace

Catherine Schroeder Grace passed into the loving hands of God on March 4, 2022.Catherine was born March 22, 1932, in Fort Worth, Texas to Otto Eugene Schroeder and Margaret Mary Wight. Catherine graduated from Our Lady of Victory Catholic School and attended Texas Woman’s University. She worked in the administration department of the Fort Worth ISD for many years. Catherine was the sweetest of ladies – small in size but huge in heart. It wasn’t uncommon to hear someone say, “Well that Catherine, she’s so kind and sweet . . . she has the biggest heart . . . and a delightful sense of humor – do you know what she did for me the other day?” Catherine became a widow and single mother at the young age of thirty-seven and she continued to devote her energy and love to her family and four children for the remainder of her life.Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Scooter” Grace II, her son William E. “Buddy” Grace III, her brother, Otto E. Schroeder, Jr., and her sister, Mary Margaret Olson. Survivors: Catherine was the beloved mother of Stephen T. Grace, of Fort Worth, Texas, Cynthia Grace, of Brentwood California, Susan Grace Serna, of Arlington, Texas and Bill Grace, of Arlington, Texas. She cherished her grandchildren, Michael Grace, David Grace, Stephen Umphress, Wayne Grace, Daniel Serna, and Catherine Serna and great grandchildren, Owen Grace, Turner Grace, Lachlan Horn, Ramsey Horn, Charlie-Grace Horn, Brielle Serna, and Sofia Serna.
