Paul A. Clinkscales passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, surrounded by family, from complications of Alzheimer’s.Paul was born August 23, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, the only child of Paul A. and Vera Norma Weygand Clinkscales. He attended schools in San Antonio and graduated from Alamo Heights High School. After graduation he attended The University of Texas on a ROTC Scholarship. Paul joined the Army and served 3 years of active duty in Germany, then joined the Army Reserves and achieved the rank of Colonel. He was the Commander of the 5779th RTU for two years.Professionally, Paul was a successful banker for 35 years and delighted in bringing Fort Worth it’s first ATM’s. After retiring from Texas American Bank, he formed his own management information systems consulting company, Pacyderm Inc.In his early years, Paul’s favorite childhood memories were in Fort Smith, Arkansas, while his father was stationed at Fort Chaffee. Later in life he and wife, Judy, most enjoyed their time with family and friends at “Treetops Cabin” in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was also a faithful member of University Christian Church and served as an elder. Paul’s true passion was his family, genealogy and the preservation of the Clinkscales’ family history. In retirement Paul worked tirelessly on the restoration and history of PrairieDale Cemetery outside of Hillsboro, Texas.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at James L. West for their loving care.Survivors: Loving wife of 36 years Judy; sons, Paul Clinkscales, Jr. (Karen), Jim Clinkscales (Ann); daughter, Theresa Nelson; step-daughters, Lynne Ebeier (Bobby), Missy Wallace (Paul), Laura Cook (Matt); grandchildren, Baird, Austin, Cooper, Alex, Nick, Sarah Beth (Mike), Mary Alice, Charlotte, William, Mae, Grant and Robert; the mother of his children, Barbara Clinkscales; and a host of devoted friends.
