Obituary of Whitney Elizabeth Moore Harwell

Whitney Elizabeth Harwell, age 51, went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 28, 2017.Whitney was born August 19, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of William Edward Moore and Patricia June Moore. A fifth-generation Fort Worth, Texas native, Whitney remained in North Texas her entire life and attended Benbrook Elementary, Monnig Middle School and Western Hills High School. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. On May 24, 2003, she married Glenn Richard Harwell and they had one child, William Halbert Harwell, born February 3, 2005.Whitney worked for some 15.5 years as a legal secretary at Harris, Finley, & Bogle PC in Fort Worth where she formed many close friendships with her coworkers. Whitney left the law firm in April 2012 and worked full-time as an electrologist for Fort Worth Electrolysis, a small business she owned and operated until she passed. As an electrologist Whitney formed close relationships with her clients and enjoyed providing a service that helped women feel better about themselves. Whitney volunteered at Pregnancy Lifeline Fort Worth to help women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. She also served on the board of ODWIN, a faith-based organization that provides services and resources to women who have experienced emotional trauma. Whitney loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and read scripture almost daily to strengthen her faith and knowledge of Him. Whitney enjoyed sewing and knitting and frequently made blankets, bags, burp cloths for newborns, and other items for friends and family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother to Glenn and William. Whitney valued relationships and the people in her life above everything else and those who knew her will remember her loyalty, peaceful presence, beautiful smile, sense of humor, and unyielding faith in Him during her battle with pancreatic cancer.The family wishes to thank Dr. Allan Kelly and staff, Dr. Mary Milam and staff, Mary Crowley Cancer Center and staff, and Community Hospice for their dedication to her care, particularly her primary nurse, Spencer Cook.Whitney was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include husband, Glenn Harwell; son, William; brother, Perry Moore, his wife, Wynne, and their sons, Joshua, Nathan, Asher and Hudson.
