Obituary of Brayden Peyton Ortiz

Brayden Peyton Ortiz followed our lord to heaven on Easter Sunday April 4th, 2021 at the young age of four. Born December 7th, 2016 and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, he is survived by his loving parents, Edgar and Julie Ortiz; older sister and best friend, Makaylla Vilmarie; younger sister, Piper Rose; and grandparents, Juanita (Lita) Gutierrez, Vilma Bartum, and Francois Bartum.Brayden suffered from a rare seizure disorder, one he battled his entire life, earning the nickname, “our little warrior”. Though a child of special needs, he was a force to be reckoned with and worked the strings of many many hearts.King of his home, he enjoyed the simple things. Wearing only a diaper, relaxing in a warm bath, listening to music, watching the stars above created by his light projector, but above all… Marble Slab cheesecake ice cream. Although he couldn’t communicate, he would speak in other ways. His eyes shared his emotions while his facial expressions told the story. He always had a great sense of humor. No one would dare sit on his couch, and if so, he would grunt and roll his eyes until you moved. Above all, showing love for those around him was his specialty. Whether it be with snuggles on mommy and daddy, sharing a giggle when nurse Teresa arrived, helping Makaylla choose drawings, or setting off his heart monitor when daddy walked through the door, you were well aware of his love. The love he held for his parents was the most significant. Edgar and Julie worked every second of every day to keep Brayden stable and happy. The love he had for his mother was beyond imagination. As the planet spun, it revolved around Brayden and Julie.In a short four years, Brayden‘s existences impacted and changed the lives of many. In a world that moves a hundred miles a minute, he taught us to slow down and enjoy the little things. Enduring his condition, Brayden continued to smile and giggle, showing us we are capable of doing the same in our hectic lives. Patience, positivity, and strength are the most instilled traits Brayden has left with us. He taught us to distinguish the important things in our lives and put them first. To see reality in a whole new way that would change us for the better, he strengthened his family and the relationships that surrounded him. His legacy carries on within us. Not only to be carried on by his family, but by the love he has imprinted in our hearts. We are told there is a reason we walk among this earth. Brayden’s very existence is the true definition of it.
