Obituary of Joan Lorre Gowan Cross
Joan was born on September 27, 1952 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Dorothy Frances Ramsey and Ethell Thomas Gowan. Joan was the second born of their three daughters. Joan passed away on January 17, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 68.Joan was married to her first husband, David Lee Sanders and they had one child, a daughter, Christina Lorre Sanders. She was later married to Dan Ellis Williamson Sr, and had one son, Dan Ellis Williamson Jr.Joan was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Abe Cross, by her son Dan Ellis Williamson, Jr. by her daughter-in-law Deanne Christine Williamson, by her brother-in-law Mark Randell Todd Sr., by her maternal grandparents Jewel Elroy Ramsey and Mary Louise (Plume) and O.T Morgan, by her paternal grandparents Victor Thomas and Maurine Vivian (Kidd) Gowan, by her father Ethell Thomas Gowan and mother Dorothy Frances (Ramsey) and Step Father Billie Joe Williams, and by her sister Janice Louise (Gowan) Glasgow.Joan accomplished many of her life long goals including finishing business school, learning Ten Key, and finally getting her GED in 1987. Joan worked fulltime for NESDA/ISCET, an electronic certification company before moving to Stephenville, TX, later returning to Fort Worth. She was an in home caregiver to her mother and grandmother Mary for over 7 years. Joan’s main goal throughout life was to be a mother and inspire her children. She was a Christian and had been a teacher in the church nursery over the years and friend to all in need.Joan is survived by her sister Carol Jean (Gowan) Todd, by her daughter Christina Lorre (Sanders) Franklin and husband Daniel Oliver Franklin, by her niece Victoria Leigh Glasgow, by her nephews Samuel Thomas Todd and Mark Randell Todd Jr., by her daughter in law Lisa Jo Jones, and by her grand-children Holly Nicole Franklin, Wesley John Franklin, Christopher Daniel Franklin, Danielle Lorre Franklin, Bryson James Jones, and Hudson Ellis Williamson, and by her other extended family and friends.Joan was, is, and will always be a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a wife, an aunt, a mother, a grandmother, and is loved dearly by her family who will cherish their memories and miss her immensely!
