Obituary of Charles Marion Rothermel
Charles Marion Rothermel Sr., 94, passed away February 19, 2022.Affectionately known as Charlie, he was kind, sweet, and caring. Dedicated to his family, he set the example for living and for teaching his children. Well done, Dad!! He loved his family, his church, and golf. Charlie had 2 best friends: Jesus, and Betty, his wife of 66 years.Retiring as a floral designer and shop owner, his journey began as a teenager working in greenhouses and shops near his home in south Fort Worth. Before opening his own shop, he managed Gordon Boswell Flowers for a number of years. He served as President of the Fort Worth Florist Association and held various positions in the member owned FTD Association. After selling his business, Charlie could be found on the golf course most days.Even though he is no longer with us, his memory and influence will continue. He will be missed.He is preceded in death by his parents, Arno Frederick Rothermel and Annie Loucile King Rothermel.Survivors: Sons, Charles (Chuck) M. Rothermel, Jr. and wife Nelda, Ricky Rothermel and wife Pat; daughter, Leslie Rothermel Horsley and husband Mike; brother, Fred A. Rothermel; grandchildren, Amy Gray, Ryan Rothermel, Melissa Rothermel, Michelle Rothermel, Eric Horsley, Brian Horsley; and great-grandchildren, Darby Gray, Casey Gray, Emily Gray, Anna Rothermel, and Ada Rothermel.
