Obituary of John Edmund Langdon

John Edmund Langdon died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 4, 2017.Johnny was born October 23, 1944, in San Francisco, the son of Jack and Dora Lee Langdon. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth in 1963 and TCU in 1968. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Following TCU, he earned a law degree from South Texas College of Law.In 1973, Johnny began creating companies involved in cancer research and treatment, biomass co-generation, and technology for the enhanced recovery of deep heavy oil.A native of Fort Worth, he founded the Lone Star Film Festival in 2007. Now in its eleventh year, LSFS supports a series of film programs including screenings at the Kimbell, Amon Carter, and Modern Art museums. LSFS also provides film-related educational programs for children. Johnny was the founder and president of Bumbershoot Production Incorporated, a Fort Worth-based motion picture and television development company, which he ran with independent film producer, Carolyn Pfeiffer.Johnny was predeceased by his sister, Jane.Survivors: Wife, Anne; stepson, Joël Livet (May); children, Clay (Whitney) and Kendall Langdon Levy (Richard); and four grandchildren, Byars, Evans Jane, Sam and Naomi.
