Obituary of Sylvia Evans Prince
Sylvia Evans Prince, 91, died peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018.Sylvia was born in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, the only daughter of William Herman Evans and Agnes Dean Evans.Her first meeting with Calvin J.M. Prince was love-at-first sight and led to marriage in September, 1946, in Bastrop, Louisiana. Cal and Sylvia enjoyed a military life while he served our country in the United States Air Force at Ascension Island, the Azores, Germany, Turkey and many bases in the U.S. before retiring in 1966.They moved to Fort Worth where Sylvia joined Clinton Wright Realty and worked many years helping to settle the southwest area of Fort Worth. She earned Salesman of the Year in 1974 and went on to be elected President of the Fort Worth Women’s Council National Association of Realtors in 1975.In later years, Sylvia’s greatest pleasure came from knowing and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Sylvia and Calvin helped build and support St. Bartholomew Catholic Church for several years. In their last move, they became members of Saint Andrew Catholic Church. They celebrated 69 years of love together before Calvin died in 2015.Sylvia is survived by their children, James Evans Prince (Joan), Roxanne Nelson (States), Lisa Curl (Frank) and Lori Cozart; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
