Obituary of Rose Christopher Rector Munson

Rose Christopher Rector Munson, age 90, of Fort Worth, Texas died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.Rose Munson was born January 6, 1929, in Lamesa, Texas. She was an avid sailor, winning the Adams Cup, a national sailing competition, in 1956 and her team was featured in Sports Illustrated. A gourmet cook, she was a lifelong member of Bon Vivant Gourmet Club of Fort Worth. She was a volunteer for and also served on the board of Children’s Hospital for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and member of St. Luke’s in the Meadow Episcopal Church.The family would like to thank all the compassionate and caring people at Clarebridge Westover, especially Pamela, Redonna, Karen, and Tina; Harris Hospital ICU; and Envoy, especially Patricia, Edith, and Bambi.She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edward P. Munson Jr. and her brothers, Bobby, Gevers, Wendel, and Billy Christopher.She is survived by daughters, Rosemary Rector and Herb Weisblatt, Robin Rector and Minister Richard Garcia, step-children Lloyd and Susan Munson Moore, Reverend Warren and Cathy Munson Ambrose, The Very Reverend John and Laurie Munson and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
