Obituary of Betty Duman
Betty Duman, 82, passed away peacefully in hospice care, Saturday, February 27, 2021.Elizabeth Ann Scholl (Betty) Duman was born April 8, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Frank and Madeline Clara (Lang) Scholl. She grew up in Pittsburgh where she attended Divine Providence Academy. In 1959, she married George John Duman and in 1972 they moved to Texas where they attended Holy Family Catholic Church.Betty served as the Office Manager at St. Francis Village from 1980 – 2003 and became a resident there after her husband’s death in 2014. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, gardening and playing games on her iPad.She was strong in her Catholic faith and enjoyed being an usher at the chapel of St. Francis village where she resided. She enjoyed her daily walks and visiting with her neighbors along the way, in addition to volunteering at Texas Heath Resources.Betty made an impact on so many people, yet she never knew how vast her sweet kind spirit connected to others.She was a loving, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George; son, Donald James Duman; and granddaughter, Mindy Dunlap.Survivors: Children, Diane Dunlap and husband, Rick, Joanne Sanchez and husband, Joaquin, David Duman and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Mitchell Dunlap and wife Michelle, and their children Miles and Caleb, Jake Sanchez and wife Erin, Justin Sanchez, Drake Duman and Briar Duman. (Jake and Erin are expecting a daughter in August) brothers, Bob Scholl and wife, Annette, Paul Scholl and wife, Sue, Larry Scholl; and numerous nephews and nieces.
