Obituary of Joan Goodwin Stripling

Joan Goodwin Stripling, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas.Joan was born on March 30, 1934 in New Albany, Mississippi to Byron and Modean (Henderson) Goodwin. She moved to Fort Worth at an early age and it was there she met and married her husband of 43 years, Donald Stripling. They had five wonderful children together. She went to work in 1960 for Loma Plastics and remained there for the next 26 years until there closing. From 1986 to 1992 Joan worked various jobs in the shipping and freight industry. In 1992 she and Don built and opened the Kwik Kar Lube and Oil Change in Benbrook and made this a very profitable business. They retired in 2007 and sold the business to their son, Rocky.Joan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her retirement years she became a very smart computer operator and social media person. Joan kept a very close and personal relationship with all of her relatives back in Mississippi. One of the things Joan made sure of was that any small creature that came into their yard was taken care of with food and water and love, all but snakes.Joan will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.Joan is survived by her husband; Don, daughters; Barbara Lee, Deborah Smalley, Cindy Chambers and husband, Mark, and Kim Pafford and husband, Tim, son; Rocky and wife, Rhonda, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
