Obituary of Robert Sturges Hawkins II
Robert Sturges Hawkins II, 75, passed away on May 9, 2018, in Fort Worth.He was born May 21, 1942, in Houston, Texas, the son of Robert and Darlene (Crane) Hawkins and graduated from Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas. After his service in the US Navy from 1962-65, he graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1968 and received his MBA from Northwestern University in 1970.On October 19, 1968, he married Madelyn Goodman in Chillicothe, MO.Bob was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where he worked with Social Ministry’s food pantry, and served as a Reader and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a long-time volunteer for the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Fort Worth Public Library.In addition to his parents, Robert and Darlene Hawkins, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hawkins.Survivors include his wife, Madelyn; son, Adrian Hawkins and his wife, Ginger, of Fairfax, VA; daughter, Michelle Eichelberger and husband, David, of Euless, TX; six grandchildren, Thomas, Jack, Emily and Elliott Eichelberger of Euless, TX and Elias and Ellie Hawkins of Fairfax, VA; sister, Patricia Deklotz and husband, Mike, of Atkins, IA; nephew, Alexis Hawkins of Brooklyn, NY; and nieces, Jennifer Eason of Port Washington, WI, and Elizabeth Serratore of Colfax, WI.
