Obituary of Robert Ainsworth Humphreys
Robert Ainsworth Humphreys, 51, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021.Robert was born on June 24, 1970 to James Mack Humphreys, Jr. and Teresa Blackwell Duff in San Antonio, Texas. Robert graduated from Port Aransas High School in 1988 He was valedictorian of his class as well as the State Champion in Doubles Tennis. He went on to study at Baylor University earning his undergrad in Finance and MBA.He started his first job at First Interstate Bank in San Antonio and ended his 27 year career as the Fort Worth Credit Office President for LoneStar Ag Credit. He thoroughly enjoyed working in agriculture banking and loved his work family.In 1996, Robert met Robyn at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, outside of San Antonio, where his voice was so loud that she could not miss him. They were engaged 3 months later and married shortly thereafter in April 1997. They were married 24 years in April. They had two children Hannah (23) and Ben (20).He started working as a deck hand in Port Aransas at the age 11 which led to a lifelong love of fishing. He was famous for his fish catching and frying abilities. Robert’s presence was heard as soon as he entered any room. He had a laugh that was infectious and everyone who ever met him walked away with a great Robert story feeling like they were his best friend.Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara and James Humphreys and Eula Mae and Loyd Blackwell.He is survived by wife, Robyn Humphreys; children, Hannah Humphreys and Benjamin Humphreys; parents, Jim and Sharon Humphreys and Teresa and Lee Duff; siblings, Loyd Humphreys and his wife, Janis, Earl Humphreys and his wife, Mary Andersen, and Adrienne Humphreys Stovall and her husband, Brant; nieces and nephews, Harrison Humphreys and his wife, Caitlin, Kevin Andersen, Madison Humphreys, Adam Stovall and his wife, Alex, Preston Stovall, Molly Reed and Riley Reed; mother-in-law, Sue Shine; and sister-in-law, Ginger Reed and her husband, Paul.
