Obituary of Patricia Amador deRios

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Patricia Rios Amador, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away at the age of 70.Patricia was born on April 26, 1950 in Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico. She was one of 17 children and the daughter of Alberto Amador and Maria Gaytan. She immigrated to Fort Worth, Texas in 1987 along with her beloved husband, Jose Antonio Rios Ramirez, and her three children, Alberto Antonio, Fernando, and Patricia. It is in Fort Worth, Texas that Patricia spent the latter part of her life and worked tirelessly to ensure the best life for her children after the tragic death of her husband. Although her life was marred by tragedy, she ensured that her children grew up in the church. She taught them that even in the darkest times the Lord was with them.Patricia was faced with many challenges throughout her life and always faced them with courage and faith. She was a hard worker who remained devoted to her children, family and loved ones until the very end. She was recognized as one of the top AVON sales representatives in her district several consecutive years and took much pride in her many accomplishments, particularly those involving her role as a mother and grandmother. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the strong values of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and devotion which shaped them into the good citizens that they are today. Patricia was the living embodiment of the saying “Querer es poder” (“Where there is a will there is a way”).Although Patricia was a person known for her guarded and serious demeanor, those closest to her also knew that she was incredibly caring, giving, and compassionate. She never hesitated to offer her support or words of encouragement to those who came to her in times of need, especially her children. She was an expert in helping her loved ones power through and overcome challenging and painful life situations. She could always be counted on to offer valuable words of advice and support, and always reminded her loved ones just how much she loved, cared for, and believed in them. Patricia was an irreplaceable source of strength for all those who came to love and depend on her. Patricia was a true inspiration and wonder woman.To her children, Patricia was both mother and father. Her children depended on her strength, intelligence, confidence, and independence. She took charge and handled any difficult situation that came her way. She loved her children very much and was always overjoyed with each of their individual accomplishments. She always saw the best in her children, even when they could not see the best in themselves. Anyone who knew Patricia also knew that she loved to brag about her children. She would say, “Fernandito es mi niño, el mas tierno, Pati es toda una mujersona y super mama y Alberto es mi mano derecha y mi fortaleza” (Little Fernando is my most gentle child, Pati is a very strong woman and a super mom and Alberto is my right hand and my source of strength).Abuela, as her grandchildren called her, made sure each one knew how special they were. Her home always included a permanent place for their toys and belongings. The grandkids were always happy and excited to stay at Abuela’s house. She loved them dearly, as they loved her.Patricia taught many valuable lessons: Always have a place in your home for your family and guests, accept everyone as they come, never give up and never give in, do what makes you happy, do not let others bring you down. She was the backbone of her family, and she shone at her position.Patricia was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, and several siblings and extended relatives. She is survived by her three children, Alberto, Fernando, and Patricia; her grandchildren, Michael Anthony Rios Johnston and Esperanza Hope “Pepi” Rios Johnston; many of her siblings as well as their families, and many dear friends and relatives.Please hug your loved ones and remind them that you love them.
