She attended Harris LVN School and graduated in 1977 realizing a lifelong dream of a career in nursing. She was a natural born caregiver, caring for others was her calling. Her greatest reward was taking care of patients and the sweetness of connecting with those in her care. After losing family members to pancreatic cancer, she committed many years to volunteering for PanCan organization, raising awareness and funds. Through this endeavor, Virginia provided passionate empathy and advocacy touching countless lives with her compassionate loving friendship.Outside of her community service work, Virginia had personal interests as well such as photography and sewing. She also loved to sing and dance when she got the chance. Most recently, in the last few years while residing in Benbrook, Virginia spent quality time pet-sitting her neighborhood fur babies, making them family members. She also loved horses and shared this love of horsemanship with her husband and their two horses.Virginia always helped others feel cared for and extra special as she never met a stranger. She made sure that those folks who crossed her path (whether extended family, neighbors, friends, or those she just met) were treated with respect and warmth. Virginia enriched life for those she touched, whether as a nurse or neighbor. She fought tirelessly for what she believed in, stood up for the poor and broken, helped the tired and needy, loved endlessly, and shone like a brilliant diamond in all of our lives. Hers was truly a wonderful life.Virginia is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 23 years, F.W.
