Obituary of Michael Robert Schwalls
Michael Robert Schwalls, 55, died on August 9, 2021, following a lengthy terminal illness. He was born on April 27, 1966, to the late Robert and Rosann (Hackett) Schwalls in Winchester, MA.Michael was a caring husband, father, son, and brother, who always had a smile and was ready to help others. He was a friend to all. Michael was truly a gentle giant.Michael was a living example of the verses Corinthians 13:4-7: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Early in life, he moved around the USA with his family due to his father’s service in the military and government employment. They lived in Massachusetts, Hawaii, Virginia, Texas, and New Jersey. Michael is a 1984 graduate of Cherokee High School in Marlton, NJ. He graduated from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (now Stockton University) in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Michael moved back to North Texas in the early 1990’s. He worked for many years as an Adult Probation Officer in Tarrant and Johnson & Somervell counties.Michael married his loving wife, Hope (Toole), in October 2007. Together, they enjoyed attending concerts & sporting events and visiting beach locations, especially Maui and the Jersey shore. Michael had a had a passion for rock music and loved concerts. Michael was an avid bowler, enjoyed scuba diving, and had a passion for cars.Michael’s family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staffs of Silverado Memory Care and Silverado Hospice for their compassionate care of Michael during his illness.Michael is survived by his wife, Hope (Toole), of Fort Worth; son, Ben of Fort Worth; Brother, Jim Schwalls and wife Nancy of McKinney; Sister, Karen Ferrell of McKinney; Parents-in-law, John and Elizabeth Toole of Nanticoke, PA; Brother-in-law, Sean Toole of Nanticoke, PA; nephews, great-nephew, great-nieces, and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rosann Schwalls, and one nephew.
