Obituary of Rupert Paulo Melecio Ocampo

Rupert Ocampo, 31, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. For 3 years he has lived with stage IV Glioblastoma and was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.Rupert was the third of four children in his family, born on December 18, 1986 in the Mindoro Province of the Philippines. At seven years old, he moved from the Philippines and arrived in Justin, Texas in October of 1993. Rupert went to Northwest High School where he met some of his closest friends and grew a great appreciation for art. Rupert would push this passion for art in high school resulting in winning multiple awards along the way. He went on to continue his education by attending Tarrant County Community College and eventually transferring to the University of North Texas where he was accepted into the nationally recognized Graphic Design Program in the College of Visual Arts and Design. Rupert was close to completing his BFA until he was diagnosed with cancer and was unable to continue.Besides having passion for art, Rupert enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, tennis, billiards and bowling. He also enjoys playing video games, in particular Massive Multiplayer Online games.Rupert was a very generous and caring person, always attending to those that are close to him even though he was crippled by this disease. Rupert would always makes sure that even near the end of his life that everything was going to be OK. As a very charismatic man, Rupert always left an impression to everyone that he met. He will be severely missed and will always be remembered by friends and family in our hearts and memories.Rupert is survived by his parents, Lisa Ocampo and Pablo Ocampo; his brothers Ryann, Ronnel, and Ross Ocampo; his girlfriend of 9 years, Lauren Madison; and his two dogs and cat, Stella, Moana, and Ninja.
