Obituary of Polly Simpson
Mary Helen “Polly” Simpson, 83, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018.Polly was born July 15, 1934, in Gorman, to the late Albert and Alice Sanders Coan. She married the love of her life, John Edd Simpson, on November 22, 1958. She was a realtor in Fort Worth for many years, a member of the Fort Worth Board of Realtors, and worked for Wm.Rigg, Inc. as a broker associate.Upon retirement, Polly enjoyed traveling with John, reading, and spending as much time as possible with her family and friends, especially her four grandchildren whom she adored.A member of Arborlawn UMC and the Bible Study Sunday School Class, Polly enjoyed her church family and volunteering in the church office.Polly was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, John; and brothers, Billie Coan, Thomas Coan and Jon Coan.The family wishes to thank the staff at Stonegate Nursing Center for their attentiveness and loving care.Survivors: Sons, Joel Simpson and wife, Dina, of Fort Worth, Jack Simpson and wife, Carrie, of Arlington; grandchildren, Reed and Rachel Simpson of Fort Worth, Matthew and Alex Simpson of Arlington; sister and brother-in-law, Pansy and Bill Preston of DeLeon; sisters-in-law, Barbara Coan and Janice Simpson of DeLeon; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
