Obituary of Anna Beth Atchison Robinson

Anna Beth Atchison Robinson, 94, died December 3, 2019 in Fort Worth. She was born in Corsicana on February 23, 1925 to Fred and Minnie Locke Atchison. She graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Texas and attended East Texas State Teacher’s College in Commerce.She met David H. Robinson, Sr. at a USO dance at Majors Field in Greenville, where he was stationed for pilot training. They married in October 1943 in Summerville, SC, where he was stationed before serving overseas – flying B-24s from his post in Italy during World War II.After the war, they settled in the Oakhurst Neighborhood in Fort Worth in 1953 with their two children David, Jr. and Diane. Anna Beth lived in Oakhurst until her death. David H. Robinson, Sr., preceded her in death on December 18, 1988.Anna Beth was an active member of University Christian Church in Fort Worth where she served as deacon, elder, and member of various committees and groups, including the Outreach Committee. She also supported and participated in Church Women United, an ecumenical women’s movement, and Tarrant Churches Together. She remained active in Oakhurst activities including the Oak Cluster Garden Club and various social groups within the neighborhood.Survivors include her sister, Marilyn Warren of Arlington; son, David H. Robinson, Jr. and wife Paula of Victoria, TX; daughter, Diane Robinson Cooper of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Alec Robinson and wife Kendall of Austin, Anna Robinson Arnold and husband Simon of Brooklyn, NY, Laura Robinson Kerr and husband Nathan of Houston, Keith Cooper and wife Catherine of Charlottesville, VA, and Beth Cooper Reynolds and husband Josh of Larchmont, NY; and great grandchildren Allie and Isabel Robinson, Hunter and Lauren Cooper, and Lilly Anna, Eloise, and Cooper Reynolds.
