Obituary of Beatriz Rodriguez Reyelts

Beatriz “Bea” Rodriguez Reyelts passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 8, 2017 at her home in Fort Worth.Beatriz was born January 27, 1943 in Laredo, Texas, to Roque and Beatriz Novoa Rodriguez. She attended Ursuline Academy in Laredo and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where she received a B.S. in Education, and began her career as an educator teaching in Laredo ISD for 5 years. She then moved to Fort Worth in 1968 and joined the Tri C Club where she met her husband, Gerald, and formed many long lasting friendships.Mrs. Reyelts’ legacy was created while teaching first grade at Trinity Valley School for 41 years. Her true passion was teaching children the fundamentals of learning which is evident in the hundreds of students she taught to read and write. Even after her retirement from teaching Mrs. Reyelts tutored children in all subjects until her last day.Along with her passion for teaching, Bea will be remembered for her charismatic laughter and story telling that endeared her to generations of students, colleagues, family members and an extensive group of close friends.Bea was preceded in death by her parents.Husband of 46 years, Gerald Reyelts; son and daughter-in-law, Gerry Reyelts and Amy Hyman; granddaughter, Louisa Reyelts; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Marcelino Gonzalez; brother, Roque Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews including Melissa, Kaitlyn and Colton Brown, Nino Gonzalez, Ana and Adriana Rodriguez.
