Obituary of Roslyn Baronne Rabalais

Roslyn Baronne Rabalais passed away with her husband and children by her side on Sunday, July 11, 2021 after a long illness.Roslyn was born in Bunkie, Louisiana and graduated from Bunkie High School in 1955. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Fred Rabalais, in August 1958.After Fred’s stint in the Army, she and he lived in several different cities and states as he pursued his career as a petroleum engineer before settling in Fort Worth in 1970. Roslyn immediately became part of the community and served as a docent at the Amon Carter Museum, a volunteer nurse at Holy Family Catholic school, on the Fort Worth Building Standards Committee and on a Tarrant County Grand Jury. Fred and she bought a ranch and were both graduates of the TCU Ranch Management program. She enjoyed playing bridge and socializing with her friends in their bridge club for 35 years.She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Rabalais, Jr., her parents, Angelo and Essie Baronne, her sister, Vivian Drouin and brother, Angelo Baronne, Jr.She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fred Rabalais, her daughters, Claire Denise Rabalais and Mary Rabalais Collins and husband Darron Scott Collins. Also her grandchildren, Pierce David Ekstrom, James Rabalais Ekstrom, Mary Claire Ekstrom and Natalie Claire Collins.
