Obituary of Madeleine Elizabeth Chamberlain Medina

Madeleine Chamberlain Medina, 92, known by close friends and relatives as “Honey,” passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017.Madeleine was born in Taconite, Minnesota on August 20, 1925, the daughter of Dennis and Lily (Martin) Chamberlain. Madeleine grew up in the small town of Taconite where she graduated from Greenway High School. She spent a brief time with her sister, Shirley, in Washington D.C., before moving to Fort Worth, Texas. In May 1954, Madeleine married the love of her life, Alfonso Medina, who she met while working at Convair, later known as General Dynamics, as a secretary. She left work to stay home and raise three daughters, and later returned to work as a secretary for the Social Security Administration and the Army Corp of Engineers. Madeleine was a voracious reader of novels, and also enjoyed sewing and crafting. She was well known at the Senior Citizens Craft Fair for her adorable Christmas crafts. Her nickname “Honey” is appropriate because the words everyone uses to describe her are “very sweet.”Madeleine is survived by her three daughters, Mary Medina of Monroe, Louisiana, Ann (Pat) Hannan of New Braunfels, Texas and Margaret (Joel P.) Kenty of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Erin (Alex) Keller, Sheena Hannan, Kevin Hannan, Andrew Kenty and Joelle Kenty; two great-granddaughters, Lily and Lucy Swift; her sister, Shirley (Richard R.) Stocco; and many nieces and nephews.
