Obituary of Pura Ortega

Pura was born May 22, 1930 in Puerto Rico to Ramon and Estanislus Perez Ortega. She was a self taught person in math and English.While she was in Brooklyn, she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she was active as a youth and adult leader, marriage counselor, as well as youth intervention and numerous other church activities.In 2010, she moved to Texas to be near her daughter.She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters; daughter, Yvette Ortega; and grandson, Christopher Ortega.Survivors: Daughter, Milagros Oyola; granddaughter, Teresa Villesca and husband, Abraham; great granddaughters, Melanea, Liliana and Scarlette.
