Obituary of Ruby Olene Davis Winters
Ruby Olene (Davis) Winters was born Thursday, August 17, 1933 to Fannie Woodard and Robert Lee Davis in Dennis Texas. Ruby Olene was named after Fannie’s older sister Olene Woodard whom Fannie loved and admired.She married Robert Milton Winters on July 5, 1953 in Preston Kansas. Together they had seven children. Ruby was an active member of her church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, participating in the YMCA Silver Sneakers, and country music, especially George Strait. She loved traveling and visiting new places. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with her family.Ruby died in her home on January 3, 2021, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by, her husband Robert, her beloved son, Thomas Scott Winters, her brother, Robert Sidney Davis, sister, Cynthia Ann Castillo and her parents.She is survived by her brother, Jack Terrell (Betty) of Houston, a sister, Jo Hatcher, her loving children, Patricia Bond (Tyler) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Margaret Montigel (Bill) of Fort Worth, Robert Winters, Jr. of Vilonia AR., Millie Lynette Lesko of Boise Idaho, Lesa Shocklee (Joe) of Fort Worth, and Fred Winters of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.Ruby will forever be remember as devoted to her husband, children and family, eternally optimistic, resourceful, full of energy, always ready for an adventure and spontaneous.We would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses, Caretakers and Staff of Bristol Hospice.
