Obituary of Riley Welton Lagow

Riley Welton Lagow, 22, passed away on June 17, 2020 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on February 8, 1998 to Rusty and Kim Lagow in Arlington,Texas. From a very young age he loved to be outdoors. He loved playing with our puppies, riding his Power Wheels Harley, riding bikes, playing sports, the rodeo, being on the river kayaking, boating, disc golf, skateboarding, riding motorcycles, and his greatest love, fishing. Fishing became his passion; if he wasn’t working, he was fishing. He was our avid outdoorsman.Riley was also a great teacher. From teaching his niece to ride her bike or teaching us to evaluate ourselves and what it means to truly be there for one another, he was always forcing us to look inward; forcing us to check ourselves and to follow through with our word.Riley had a huge heart. Though some may not have seen just how big his heart was, he cared deeply for people. If you were his friend or someone close to him, you knew he would always be there for you and fight for you. He believed in tradition; he didn’t like change. He believed in family and what it means to be a family, which he learned from watching his grandparents and the values they instilled in him. His meaning of family grew and morphed as he got older to include some of his best friends and a girlfriend, along with his dog, Eleven. Riley had a wonderful sense of humor and he was such a free spirit, his ability to constantly be silly and his infectious laugh will always be remembered.Riley will be missed beyond measure but we will continue to live each day for him. We will continue to love on one another as he so often would. Riley was an amazing son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will not be forgotten. He was welcomed home by grandparents, Joyce and Michael Lagow.Riley is survived by his mother, Kim Lagow and father, Rusty Lagow; sister, Kayli Frick and husband Jeffrey; brother, Russell Garrett Lagow; step-mom, Lana Lagow; grandparents, Karen Arrington, Gary and Noma Arrington; aunt, Kara McLeroy; uncles, Mark Lagow and wife Lynette, Scott Lagow, John Kirk Arrington, Blake Arrington and wife Michelle, Lance Arrington and wife Laurie; niece, Brynli; nephew, Liam; cousins, Matt, Kristin, Mitchell, Tanner, Kylee, Chelsey, Macy, Meagan, Kassi, Ashton, Lawson and Lucas; and numerous other step-siblings, nieces, nephews and other family.
