Obituary of Laura Eileen Callahan Wyche
Laura Callahan-Wyche, 56 of Burleson, TX passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and close friends on Friday, July 23, 2021.Laura Bell, Lala, Lori Dori, LewLew, Miss Everman… Laura Eileen Callahan was born in Burbank, CA on November 4, 1964 to Daniel and Kathleen (Ribera) Callahan. She graduated from high school in Everman Texas and married her high school sweetheart Chip Wyche. She owned and operated several businesses over her lifetime including furniture stores, newspapers and an interior design company. She had an eye for decorating and a black belt in shopping. She was a successful business woman but her greatest accomplishment was being the matriarch of the family.She was the one you called at any time, day or night to cry to or laugh with. Her door was always open and you didn’t have to be a blood relative to be family in her home. She was the advice giver, broken heart comforter, and Mama Bear defender for all, including her children’s and sibling’s friends she claimed as her children in love, over the years. She was a very wise woman and prayed for wisdom and discernment daily.She was an artist and creatively expressed her talents thru drawing and writing. She could write everything from corporate letters to quirky poems. She was quick witted and very articulate. She was the dictionary you called to check your spelling, grammar and wording.Laura loved to travel. She was a true historian and loved museums. She relished in documentaries and splurged on paranormal movies and ghost tours. She was the family vacation planner and holiday gathering organizer. She loved entertaining. She hosted tons of parties and her invitations were always creatively written and events were unforgettable.Laura also had a taste for the finer things in life. As an admitted foodie, one of her favorite hobbies was discovering new dishes and restaurants. One of her many talents was cooking, from copy cat restaurant dishes to classic cheeseburger helpers, “Chef Boy R’Lew” always managed to add her own twist. All her dishes were delicious and labored in love.She was a selfless giver, honest, loving, compassionate and fun, Lala, Mother, Aunt and Big Sister.She was preceded in death by her Son- Matthew Wyche; Nephew- Travis Kleinschmidt; Father- Daniel Patrick Callahan I; Grandparents- Josh (Pockey) and Shirley (Grams) Ribera.She was loved and will be greatly missed by many including her Husband of almost 40 years, Chip Wyche; Daughter, Mandy Neves; Granddaughter, Lexi Perry; Grandson, Jacob Wyche; Parents, Mother, Kathleen Callahan, Mother in Love, Carol Walker and husband Don, Father in Law, Chuck Wyche; Grandmother in Law, Juna Mae Walston; Siblings, Brenna Kleinschmidt, Kellie and husband Russell Johnson, Katie Callahan, Daniel P. Callahan II (Danny) and his wife Natalie, Jerry Kleinschmidt, Melody and husband Craig Marsh; Aunts, Geri Gehr and Elda Housey; Nieces and Nephews, Brett Kleinschmidt, Josh Marsh and wife Lauren, Ryan Marsh and wife Amy, Madelynn and Jack Chastain, Daniel Patrick Callahan III, Preston & Madeline Pickens, Hunter and Tanner Johnson; Additionally she leaves to mourn numerous cousins and friends.
