Obituary of Jacqueline McGinnis Melcher

Jacqueline McGinnis Melcher died peacefully at home March 17, 2022. Jackie was born in San Francisco, California on October 15, 1937, to her parents William Noble McGinnis and Abelina Buys McGinnis, and she was raised in Portland Oregon. She attended Lindenwood College and graduated from Southern Methodist University where she met the man she would love for the rest of her life, John Q Melcher. They were married in Houston on July 2, 1960 and made their home in Fort Worth for 62 years. Jackie was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained elder and a Stephen Minister. She was active in Presbyterian Women and worked with good friends every Monday in the Clothing Room at Community Crossroads Outreach Center for many years. A lifelong dedicated volunteer, Jackie had been a member of the Woman’s Board of Cook Children’s Medical Center, Jewel Charity Ball, Gamma Phi Beta sorority, P.E.O., Canwick Club, and the Girl’s Service League. Jackie’s greatest joys in life were her husband, her three children and their spouses, and her eight grandchildren. Along with her husband John, Jackie is survived by her children Jennifer Regen and her husband Gene of Fort Worth, Jack Melcher and his wife Trish of Fort Worth, and Jessica Yansouni and her husband Bertrand of Los Altos Hills, California. Her beloved grandchildren are Cecelia Ann Goebel and her husband Grant, Noble McGinnis Melcher, Eugene Marshall Regen IV, Payton Nicole Melcher, John Edmund Regen, Luc Marcus Yansouni, Alexander John Yansouni, and Claire Miguelle Yansouni.
