Obituary of William Calhoun Walker

William Calhoun Walker, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022. He was born March 10, 1924 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Herman S. Walker and Carrie Calhoun Walker. Bill served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre constructing airfields with the US Army Corps of Engineers on numerous Pacific islands in advance of troop movements.After graduation from the University of Kansas with a Mechanical Engineering degree, Bill married his beloved wife Elaine, and together they moved from Kansas, Missouri and Texas while Bill supervised pipeline and service station construction for Phillips Petroleum. Bill and Elaine moved from Midland, Texas to Tulsa, Oklahoma to Casper, Wyoming and finally to Fort Worth in 1973, as Bill advanced within KenDavis Industries, ultimately retiring as President of Mid-Continent Supply Company in Fort Worth.Elaine predeceased Bill in 2007. Bill is survived by his children Craig Walker and wife Lisa of Houston, Carol Walker Searcy and husband Marty of Fort Worth; grandchildren Erick Calhoun Walker of Austin, Jordan Walker of Houston, Ben Searcy and wife Georgia of Dallas, and Lee Searcy of Dallas; and great granddaughter Calhoun Caroline Searcy.Bill’s family wishes to offer a special thanks to everyone at The Stayton on Museum Way, and Catie Colley of St. Gabriel’s Hospice.
