Obituary of Dora Elizabeth Clark Johnson

Dora Elizabeth Clark Johnson, age 86, completed her journey home on February 1, 2020.Born in Huntsville, Texas on January 24, 1934 to proud parents Lindsey S. Clark (deceased) and Cecil E. Tarbutton Clark (deceased), the youngest of three children. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1951 and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in 1954 with a Business degree.Meeting the love of her life, Charles L. Johnson of Stamford, Texas, they married on July 7, 1955, and lived briefly in Houston, before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 1957. There they raised four children and celebrated 53 years of marriage until Charles’ passing on April, 29, 2009. They were members of First United Methodist Church and the Inquirers Class.Reunited again, may the Lord’s comfort, grace and love forever embrace them in Heaven.Dora is survived by her loving relatives, Clark and Rosalind Johnson, children Matthew and Ella of Cedar Park; Joe and Koren Johnson, children Blake and Travis of Colleyville; Jan and Dale Rand, daughter Alaina of Dripping Springs; Carl and Nancy Johnson, children Mackenzie, Meagan, Jacob Carmichael, Nicole Paschall and Stephanie Byrd all of Argyle; sister, Mary Stiles of Huntsville; and numerous other loving relatives.Preceding her in passing is her brother, Lindsey Clark of Huntsville.A kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she was a devoted caregiver of many and loved all, but was most proud of her family. With her beautiful smile, laugh, gregarious nature and heart, she gave much time to her church, children’s school, sports, Scouting, and Campfire girl activities. Enjoyer of arts and culture, she loved the many museums of Fort Worth and engaged in her own painting, ceramics, and photography talents. A traveling enthusiast after Charles’ retirement, they visited many US states, Canada – Vancouver, Finland, France, and Sweden.The family wishes to thank the staff of the Legacy at Crystal Falls, Leander, Texas and Kindred Hospice for their wonderful, kind, loving and extended care.
