Obituary of Jonathan Hampton Sisson

Jonathan Hampton Sisson left this earthly life on April 1, 2018.Jon was born July 23, 1966 in Seattle, WA, to Richard and Judy (Landeen) Sisson. Jon graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA and Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration with a MBA. Soon he joined Alcon Laboratories for a very exciting and satisfying 10 years in the pharmaceutical business. He decided to jump off into the challenging opportunities he found in reviving and making successful turn-arounds for companies that needed a consultant. His current passion was his own company which he called ExceedIT was dedicated to youth sports science, technology and training for which a patent is pending.Everything changed when his father died in 2016 and Jon returned to Fort Worth to help, since he could easily work from home. He was a wonderful help with all things financial and technical, along with his tireless sister, Molly, who managed the family ranch in Aledo. They were my support especially because I had fallen, seriously injuring my back. With Jon at the house, we went to Kit’s baseball games, ate our meals together, planned the funeral, and Jon designed Dick’s big beautiful monument sparkling in the sun to honor his father at Greenwood Cemetery. Now he will be there, reunited with his father for eternity.Oh, how much he loved his three wonderful children, Taylor, Allie, and Kit. Taylor is in California studying architecture and engineering at Cal Poly. She is set to intern this summer in Rome and Berlin. Allie is at the University of South Carolina following her dream to become a nurse. Kit is in his junior year at Paschal High School, and is seriously considering starting with a degree in business. Jon and Kit were close and this was a special time for them, planning for the future and cheering for the varsity baseball team, where Kit plays short-stop, hoping to go all the way to a district title for Paschal, and just last week, they did. Kit has been invited to play this summer with the Sister Cities’ program in Italy. The children’s mother is Lane Gallagher, about whom Jon often said, “Lane is a very good mother.”So together we found ourselves doing a lot of porch sitting, reminiscing and really getting to know each other again. We had both changed and to our surprise we discovered that we were more alike than ever before. One friend said to Jon, “You and your mother are the same person.”As I had always known him to be, here he was again sweet, humble, kind, real and honest, generous, intellectually alive, and informed. His many friends, I think, will remember his humor. What fun it was to be with him!He Loved.
