Obituary of Virginia Ruth Wheat McMillan

Virginia Ruth Wheat McMillan passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the age of 98.Ruth McMillan moved to Texas with her family in 1925 from Wayland, Indiana. She graduated from Poly High School in 1937. In December of 1939, she married veteran Joe Vance and they had a daughter Nancy. After Joe died in the war, Ruth later married navy veteran, Warren McMillan, in November of 1947. Ruth and Warren had a wonderful marriage of 62 years. They had two children Ken and Nelia. Ruth and Warren enjoyed many evenings dancing at the Stardust ballroom in Fort Worth. Ruth was also a very successful Tupperware sales manager for over 20 years. She loved to say she partied all the time and Warren played tennis all of the time. Her family and friends have so many fond memories of Birthday parties, Holiday parties, domino and spade parties at her home. Her family will always remember her love of gardening and cooking delicious meals for her large family.Ruth is survived by her daughters, Nancy Moree and husband, Ken, and Nelia Blanton and husband, Chuck, her son, Ken McMillan and wife Mary, her grandchildren, April Fariss and husband, Bruce, Julie Fuller and husband, Greg, Barbara Schweitzer and husband, Thurman, Melissa Sugulas and husband, Dan, Brandon McMillan, and Brittany McMillan. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sister, Geneva June Crowley.
