Obituary of Margaret Jean Hobart
Margaret Jean Hobart, lovingly known as Peg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Southlake, Texas. Peg was born on May 19, 1934. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Marion and Arthur Hobart.Peg graduated from Arlington High School. Peg loved animals, so she took a job at the Fort Worth Zoo. She worked there until she retired in 1999. During her time there, she hand-raised two lion cubs and a tiger cub.She enjoyed collecting and had several collections of dishes and Hummel figurines. She also enjoyed knitting/crocheting and hooking rugs. She hooked several rugs for her home and knitted/crocheted garments for her nieces and nephews. She liked puttering around in the garden and growing flowers and vegetables.Margaret is survived by her brother, Donald Hobart, his wife Cynthia and their five children; Sharon, her husband Don; Victoria; Mark, his wife Nancy; Paul, his wife Sandra; and Thomas and her grandnieces; Stephanie and Emily and her grandnephews; Austin and James.She had the most generous and kind heart. She was loved and will be missed by all of us.Her remains will be interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, Maine next to her beloved father and mother.
