Obituary of Carol Ann Doerr Arber Hughes

Carol Ann Doerr Arber Hughes “aka Dear, Mom or Granny” has finished her long hard battle with the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s. She passed peacefully away in her bed Thursday December 30th at 11:15 am. She was born in Newark, New Jersey June 29th, 1944. Her Uncle Joe and Aunt Ruth came to her and her siblings rescue to give them a long and happy life in Texas. All she ever wanted was to be a good wife and great mother. She succeeded. She would find a way to make any house her home. Finding that one special thing at the thrift store, garage sale, or on a clearance aisle. She loved to laugh and be goofy. She could always tell, even from across the room, if you needed a wink. She loved her husband so very much even after 55 years of marriage; it melted your heart to see them holding hands, giving that kiss and saying I love you… and meaning it. If you needed her, she was there. Always a mom and a friend to so many. She was the glue of the family bringing all of us together. She would get so excited to see you. She will always be missed and loved.
