Obituary of Elizabeth Mae Bradshaw Rogers

Elizabeth (Betty) Mae Bradshaw – Rogers passed away peacefully in her home early Thursday morning, July 30, 2020. Betty was born April 17, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky but has been a “Texan” since 1949. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1958. She met her husband Will while attending North Texas State University.Betty loved and was a very active member of University Christian Church. She worked as a volunteer and on the staff of UCC for almost 60 years. As a volunteer, she and husband Will, taught all levels of Sunday School, worked on the Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival since it’s conception, served as Board Chairs for the Boar’s Head Guild for several years. Betty served on many committees, as an usher, and was a deacon. In her retirement she was active in Bible study, yoga class and Faithfully Fit. As a staff member she worked for the UCC Weekday School during the week and in the nursery on Sunday’s. After 37 years with the Weekday School she retired but continued to work in the nursery.Betty was also in the first volunteer training class for the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall. She and her daughter Mimi, have served together as volunteers for the past 22 years. Betty was most proud of her accomplishments as a homemaker, mother and wife.Betty is preceded in death by husband;Will Rogers, brothers; Bill Bradshaw and Bobby Bradshaw,parents Dr. and Mrs. WV Bradshaw (Brad and Mimi)Survivors: daughter; Mimi Rogers of Fort Worth, brother; Edward Bradshaw of San Antonio and a large extended family
