Obituary of Jack Leonard Grigsby

Jack Leonard Grigsby, 81, died Sunday, September 8, 2019.Jack was born February 1, 1938 in Thompson’s Station, TN, the son of Leonard and Annie Lou (Barker) Grigsby.He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Jack continued his education at Inter American University in Puerto Rico where he earned his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Military Officers Association.Jack served in the US Air Force and Reserves, where he received numerous commendations, including the AFCM and the AM (w/3 OLC), and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He completed his career with the FAA for 35 years.He is survived by his daughters, Mary Jacque Thompson and Susan Florence and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Lauren Hollis Abel and husband, Casey; Scott Hollis and Brad Florence; great granddaughter, Hudson Rose Abel; sister, Judy Hayes; and longtime companion, Nancy Boring.
