Obituary of David Lynn Morris

David Lynn Morris, born July 17, 1948, fought a long, hard battle but passed away on June 13, 2022 from Parkinson’s disease and related complications.

David was a kind, generous, and loyal man who wholeheartedly loved his family, his friends, and his Lord. One never questioned David’s willingness or ability to help those in need. He devoted his life to serving loved ones and strangers alike, truly living a worthy life.

He had a keen sense of humor, always ready with a joke or two – even though they caused many to groan. David had many diverse interests; he loved spending time with his family, loved his church, loved cars, sports, music, playing his trombone, fishing, Baylor, and his Kiwanis club. David spent the majority of his career with his own company, Insurance Resources, helping small businesses and individuals with insurance and financial needs.

David is survived by many who are filled with love and gratitude to have shared life with him. His family is especially thankful for the strong example of love he set and the beautiful pathway of kindness he laid out.  Family members include his wife of 52 years, Bonnie; his son, Joel and wife, Mary; his daughter, Rachel; his brothers Jim and Mark Morris; and fourteen grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Carter, Nathan, Emma, Sam, Hannah, Violet, Audrey, Rose, Willow, Lorelai, Benjamin, Aaron, and Reid.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Parkway Hills Baptist Church, 2700 Dallas Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093, with a reception immediately following.
