Obituary of Carlisha Rashun Danette Schultz

Please share a memory of Carlisha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carlisha Rashun Danette Schultz, 52, departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 13, 2022, while surrounded by her closest loved ones. Carolyn Schultz welcomed her only daughter to this world on April 19, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas. Carlisha was raised in a home of strong women where she was exposed early to the importance of a maternal spirit and the consideration of the well-being of others. Carlisha received her formative years of education in the Fort Worth Independent School District. Later during her teenage years, Carlisha relocated to Maryland with her family. It is in Maryland that she completed her high school education and received her diploma. Carlisha lived and worked between Maryland and Fort Worth for many years. Before finally settling in her birthplace, Carlisha’s adventurous spirit led her to live abroad for a year in the Persian Gulf country of Bahrain.

After completing her education and in choosing a career, Carlisha revisited the very lessons she learned as a young girl in her grandmother’s home. Carlisha’s compassionate spirit led her to work in numerous positions in the healthcare industry and even fostering children as a young woman. Despite her own health challenges, Carlisha chose the work in positions of service. In each of her positions as Certified Nursing Assistant, Case Aide or group home assistant, Carlisha did not allow her own struggles to limit her consideration of others. Carlisha’s most recent position was as a Case aide with the Salvation Army whose mission is “to meet human needs in His (Jesus’) name without discrimination” and we believe that every need that Carlisha’s humanity lacked, has now been fulfilled.

Carlisha was vibrant, outgoing, humorous and loyal to her close-knit group of family friends. She was often the life of the party and known to bring everyone together. Carlisha was a member of Milk & Honey Ministries of Ennis, TX, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She will be sorely missed by all those who encountered and loved her.

Carlisha was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Garland “Buddy” and Ray Schultz. Carlisha is survived by her mother, Carolyn Schultz Young; brother, Dr. Donrich (Danelle) Young and sister, Latisha Boykin. She leaves to cherish her memories, dear aunts, Helen Schultz and Mary Schultz; uncles, Thurman Schultz and Albert Johnson; nieces, Shani and Gabrielle Boykin; nephew, Dawson Lamont Young; special “Fab Four” first cousins: Mario Jones, Ontario Jones, Janae Mitchell and Jamaal Schultz; and many other cousins and friends.
