Obituary of Mary Lucille Virnig Manry
Mary Lucille (Virnig) Manry, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed from this life on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76114. Entombment: Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Mary was born the third of four children to Herbert Peter and Leona Elizabeth (Lang) Virnig on November 30, 1938 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Mary’s primary joy was being the devoted mother of her two daughters, Lisa and Shannon, and proud Nana of Austin and Brandon. She was a devout Catholic all of her life and inspired her family through her courageous acceptance of life’s difficulties. Through it all, she maintained a strong faith in God.
Mary was an accomplished businesswoman, having come to the world of real estate after raising her daughters. Her business smarts and strong work ethic took her from working as an agent to becoming Vice-President and Managing Broker of Brants Realtors in Ft. Worth. She loved the challenges her work presented as well as the opportunities to develop strong friendships in the business community. Mary was a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors and the Residential Brokerage Council of the Realtors National Marketing Institute. She was a director of the Greater Fort Worth Area Association of Realtors for 14 years and named a Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate for 17 years.
The family is grateful to the caregivers at the Ridglea memory care center who lovingly cared for Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Herbert and Robert, and her beloved daughter, Shannon.
Mary is survived by her cherished daughter, Lisa Manry Montgomery, with her husband, Craig, and their sons, Austin and Brandon, all of Granbury; she is also survived by her devoted sister, Betty (Virnig) Mitchell, her brother-in-law, Dr. William H. Mitchell of Fort Worth. She will be especially missed as well by Betty’s children, John and Tom Mitchell of Fort Worth, Molly Mitchell Haley of Pampa, and Anne Mitchell Gilligan of Irving.
