Obituary of Peggy Lee Martin

Peggy Lee Martin (née Harlan) passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023 after a short illness. Peggy’s loving family was at her side when she passed.

Peggy was 83; she was born in Terrell, TX to Olean and Elvis Lee Harlan. Peggy’s early childhood was spent in Jack County before the family moved to Fort Worth. Peggy attended TCU after graduating from Paschal High School.

Peggy married Norman Martin and together they had one child, Mitzi Lee. Peggy and Norman lived most of their adult life in Fort Worth before moving to Parker County during their retirement years. She was proud of how she and Norman decorated the Parker County home she loved so much.

Peggy loved traveling the roads of Texas, Colorado and New Mexico in the various family motorhomes through the years. Along with her husband and family dog of the time they would set off on numerous excursions each year. From Durango to South Padre and countless points in between.

Peggy had a discerning eye for style. She liked to put on her best for business events associated with Norman’s work, their evenings out, and the style shows and dinners at Ridglea Country Club.

For a time, Peggy and her husband owned a home in Angel Fire, NM. They loved 4-wheeling and snowmobiling in the mountains. It was through these off-road adventures they were able to make enduring friendships.

They had always enjoyed entertaining family and friends whether in Fort Worth, Angel Fire or around a campfire when they were on the road in their motorhome.

Right up to the end Peggy enjoyed a nightly glass of Prosecco, visiting with her family and loving on her dog Sophie. Nothing was more important to her than her family especially her grandchildren and great grand-kids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olean and Elvis Lee Harlan as well as her loving husband of 56 years, Norman Harold Martin. She is survived by her daughter Mitzi Lee Martin Pomes and her husband Gregg, her grandchildren Matthew Marinello and Courtney Pomes, and her great-grand children Brenleigh and Lorenzo.
