David was a good friend of my older brother Skip (passed on) in Denton Texas. I didn't know him well but I was influenced by him to learn how to eat "clean and healthy". Thanks David...you helped change my life...fond memories....see you on the other side brother.

Gosh I was so shocked to see this. Went to St Andrew with Janet and Janine and played football with David. He, of course, was the star and looked up to by the 7th graders. Very humble and always nice to us. I unfortunately lost track after grade school but glad to see he was athlete of the year at Nolan and had such an interesting post graduate life in the culinary arts and wine business. My sincere condolences to the twins and the whole Straley family. Wish we could all get together sometime

David loved playing baseball and he was good at it. He invented a fantasy baseball game as a kid using spoons as bats, paper wads as baseballs and baseball cards as players. This was in our living room when we had to stay indoors. David also played baseball in our backyard with his sisters & the neighborhood kids. I went to a lot of David's little league games & those are good memories. When I got a job with the Rangers, David was the 1st one to tell me about Josh Hamilton. RIP my brother!

David was a year behind me at Nolan. He was our quarterback in 1968 and I snapped the ball to him as I played center. Very quiet a d humble guy. Great teammate. So sorry for your loss.

David was a gentle soul and we know his sisters and their families will miss him greatly. We want to share our favorite memory of David. Our first trip to the San Francisco/Napa area, he spent a day guiding Janette, Neil, Rich and I to several of his favorite wineries. He was well known and warmly welcomed at each of them. While we were imbibing in the wine tastings, David shared his vast knowledge and experience in the industry. He spoke with a quite passion about every aspect of bringing the grape to the bottle. It was the loveliest time and will always hold a special place in our memories. We send our love and condolences to his loving family
