Obituary of Carolee Long McCutcheon

Carolee Long McCutcheon, 60, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023. 

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd.    Private Interment.

Carolee was born January 24, 1963 to Philip Long and Elsie Long. She was the younger of two children.  She grew up in Dallas and went to WT White and Lake Highlands high school. 

When she was twenty years old she married what would soon be the father of her two children. Giving birth to Sean first and then Meredith two years later. 

After having children Carolee went to nursing school to pursue a career as a nurse. 

Nursing gave Carolee a great sense of pride, fulfillment and accomplishment. She worked as a labor delivery nurse for most of her career but also worked as an ER nurse, a travel nurse in various positions, school nurse and finally a hospice care nurse. 

Carolee experienced more than her fair share of heartache while she was here because of her grief stricken and abused childhood but she knew the Lord and had written throughout her life about knowing that he had always been there watching over her. 

Carolee was survived by her daughter, Meredith Uscielowski, husband Kaz and their daughter Karter; her son, Sean Bayless, his wife Isis, their three daughters; and her long time best friend, Laurie Curtis.
