Obituary of William Joseph "Billy" Freeman Jr.

William “Billy” Joseph Freeman, Jr. passed away Tuesday November 14, 2023 following a brief illness. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Castleberry Baptist Church, 1250 Jim Wright Fwy, Fort Worth, TX 76108 with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. before the service.  

Memorials: The family requests that if you feel led to make a memorial donation, Billy would want it to go to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

Billy was born June 3, 1951 in Fort Worth, TX to William “Bill” and Sallie Nina McClung Freeman. He retired from Lockheed Martin following 32 years of service in Transportation and Sanitation. Billy was a wonderful husband and father who loved his family dearly. He was very involved throughout the community of White Settlement ranging from White Settlement Youth Association as a baseball coach and board member for many years. He also served as a Deacon at Altamere Baptist Church and Normandale Baptist Church for many years.  Billy never knew a stranger, loved Jesus, and taught his family that as long as you had Jesus and family, you had everything in life. Billy spread his love for life throughout the community, always making jokes and sharing them with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Joseph Freeman Sr. and Sallie Nina McClung; brother-in-law, Erle Horton III; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and 3 angel baby grandchildren.

Survivors: Wife, Brenda Freeman; son, Adam Freeman and wife, Deena, of Fort Worth; daughter, Amanda Freeman of White Settlement; daughter, Allyson Johannsen and husband, Kyle, of White Settlement; five grandchildren, Rylin, Trinity, Caleb, Ranger, and Madelyn; sister, Wanda Horton of Haltom City; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
