Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I can't be with you all in person, but I wanted to share a few thoughts about Helen.
Helen wasn't just our next-door neighbor; she was a cornerstone of my little world and every community she was a part of - friends, church, neighbors. “Helen and Jack’s” was a place to search for cookies and toys and see what the boys were up to - and maybe catch one with a pet snake or guitar under the big tree out front. Whatever the case, every knock on the door was greeted with Helen’s warm smile and an open heart. That was a guarantee.
One of the things that stood out most about Helen was her wisdom and kindness - "When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness - Proverbs." This was Helen through and through. Whether it was sharing stories, giving advice, or just listening, she always did so with a gentle heart and a wise word.
Helen was there for so many of my important moments. She supported my adventures abroad, celebrated at my wedding in Switzerland, and was always a source of encouragement and strength. Her Italian cream cakes were legendary and her presence was a gift to us all.
She was a strong, thoughful woman, and and her smile could light up any room. Helen's spirit was truly one of a kind, and the impact she made on our lives is indelible. Her absence leaves a void, but the love, wisdom and friendship she shared will never fade.
Enjoy the journey beyond, Helen, as I know you are celebrating today with loved ones who traveled ahead. You'll always be remembered and deeply missed.
Love to you all,
Monica
